    frontend usage question

new to the site after being a broswer. i have a plan in place for my hardware and wants/needs for my carputer. while im piecing things together can a frontend be downloaded to my laptop to play around with? i ask because i searched and coundnt determine if say road runner was touch 'driven' or could be interacted with a cursor.
    thanks for the help

    Yes.
The three major front-ends can all be downloaded for trial.
They can all be navigated with a mouse in addition to touchscreen, even though they are all designed to be used with a touchscreen as the primary control.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
