I doubt it. Is the USB plug for a memory stick?
i have an alpine head unit, with a usb plug and ipod plug standard
can i plug a car pc into the usb plug and control it by the stereo buttons.
I know i will have to use something like girder to assign the commands
is there an additional peice of hardware that needs to be bought or can it be plugged straight in,
Thanks for the help
I'm guessing it's for a memory stick as i have a usb port for a memory stick.
I've been thinking maybe we could somewhere find a wire which acts as a memory stick but just forwards the sound from the carputer down the USB wire.?
if the alpine has an AUX input then you can get the sound to travel through your car stereo.
now controlling the stereo via USB cable from the PC could prove to be somewhat difficult, if not impossible. Is the head unit far from being within arms reach?
perhaps alpine sells a remote for it, no?
mines just a minstery of sound CD Player (Cheapest i could find) So it doesn't have AUX In.
Sorry to hi-jack the thread but is it just possible to play the music from the computer via the stereo threw a usb lead? I'm not worried about controlling it, as i could use a remote.
the sound is not the problem, i want to able to press "next track" on the head unit, and for it to change the song in the actual carpc, like it does for the ipod,
the head unit must send out some signal to the ipod to change the song, so im thinking i can plug it into the car pc and using GIRDER it can pick up the signal. then i can program it to do what i want
Has anyone tried anything like this before?
