Alpine PDX AMP for JL Audio 10W6

NOObie to the forums posting here, but not a nOObie more like a OG.
I have 2 JL 10w6 subs that I want to get a Alpine PDX mono amp for. I want to get the PDX amps as I currently have 2 4.100 amps driving a 5 channel setup in my RSX and would like to keep the same style amp as I show the car.

1:What is the RMS power of the 1.600 and the 1.1000?
2:Would 2 of either of the above work?
    3: Suggestions?

    tia,
    Ron

    1. Let me help you with this... Link, it works for the 1.1000 as well!
    2. Yes, they would both work, but one will be better
    3. Tell us the voice coil configuration of the subs and we could tell you which one would be better or if either are even worth using

1: I did search.. (I'm not that much of a nOObie ) but what I found was inconsistant info as to RMS and Max power... Some sites showed 1000W RMS and others showed 1000W Max power, one even showed 1500W max power. That is why I posted the question.. I was hoping someone would have good info on the power.

2: Hense the reason for the thread. Which is a better match.

3: 2 JL Audio 10W6V2D4 subs... Dual voice coil 4ohm load subs

I see. The reason that you may be seeing conflicting data about the Alpine amp is because its power supply is regulated. Which means at any ohm load its designed to operate at the amp will put out the same power. So at either 2 or 4 ohms the 1.1000 will put out 1000W and the 1.600 will put out 600W. You can trust though that they each put out that amount.

The W6 is a great woofer, typically a little pricey, but probably the best subwoofer that JL makes. Because the W6 is rated at 600W the best amp of the two you listed would be the 1.1000 and you would have to run it at 4 ohms. If your stuck on running the PDX line that amp will work fine, however, there are some other amps you could get that could produce the power for less money.

What vehicle do you plan on running this in and what kind of box do you plan on using?

Just a question... Why arent you looking at buying a JL 1000/1? Its a perfect match for those subs. Also, if you want, I know some people that are selling them pretty reasonably priced.
I've got 2 10w3's running off a JL 500/1 and they are amazing, the w6's on a 1000/1 would be in heaven.

But thats just my 2 bits.

MK17 is correct. The 600 and 1000 watt rating are the respected RMS.

I have a PDX 4.150 (4 x 150W RMS) and the birth sheet rates it at 4 x 168W RMS. I am VERY pleased with the line and plan on adding a 1.1000 and a 13W7.... eventually. Just some info to add.

I see no reason to go with the JL over the PDX Unless the price was a huge different, which it won't, unless he gets a deal. The will both put out the same numbers and the PDX would match his others

I will be having a custom box or boxes made for my 03 RSX... not sure if I should go sealed, ported or bandpass. Suggestions? I have read about both but I still don't know which way to go. I will be showing the car and want sound quality first then SPL.

This is what my system was like before I got the PDX amps...I moved away from the PPI amps to save some weight and space.

This is what I am contemplating doing for my new setup... I am thinking of using the spare tire area for part of the box and connecting both subs under a 3" raised floor. I will have no rear seat so the setup will extend over that area and work around a rollbar that is going in.

The reason I'm looking at the Alpine PDX is because I have 2 4.100 PDX amps already for my setup. I also have a Audison powering my current 2 10w3v2D4 subs which I am replacing with 2 10w6V2D4 subs... the Audison is going to my other car, hence the search for a matching amp for the system.

Sealed, anything else and you would be putting SPL first. The W6's shine in a sealed enclosure
