Don't use an aspire one or if you do power an inverter off of your battery and plug it in that way. If you power it from the cigarette lighter you will probably pull too much current through the wires and melt them possibly causing a fire.

Unless acer have now started building mini-itx boards or smaller, I would steer well clear of them.

And yes as above with Ethan537 it will draw to much current for the grade/quality of the wires leading to and after the cig lighter and more then likely melt. and if you amp up the wires on the plug from the cig lighter then your causing yourself more hell as the onces behind it could melt and then short out to the body of your car.... BUT these wires are meant to hold the current for a small 12/240 inverter... So either way dont.

I would suggest investing in a micro/mini/pico ITX board from ebay or a online shop and getting the right power supply at the same time like the M2... It still works out to be the same cost as a new computer anyway or a little cheaper if you dont need much speed.

Because i am using custom software, My 800mhz can run video easily and anything else that i wish and the board+cpu/memory/psu all come to $300AUD and i think that was including freight.

I have since been building a normal sized PC board setup with a stronger power supply but either way all of these are to be run directly from the car battery on a fused circuit.
