A few question about Light in a box

Hello, I'm building a Protouring car and would like to install a Touch Screen system and noticed Light in a box has great prices. Originaly I was going to get the Kenwood DXN 8120 but after seeing the prices on light house. Are they as good of quality? IS there some way to talk to a human about my system I'm building?

What do you mean by a "touch screen system"?
I'd never heard of Light In The Box until now. They appear to be a Chinese wholesaler, and probably don't sell to the general public. IF you have the means to do business with wholesalers, then go for it.

Overall, Kenwood is a reputable brand of car electronics, namely audio and vieo pieces.

Also understand that these forums have a focus on vehicle computing, which a Kenwood in-dash touhscreen model couldn't touch (pun intended). If you want to have a truly unique system in your pro tourer, then go whole hog and install a full-on PC.
Impress 'em on the Hot Rod Power Tour or somesuch.

I'm going to try and understand the benifit of a computer in my car. Can I still have a Kick but Sound System, Can I monitor the motor and the ECM? I'm not sure what a computer would do in the car. But willing to Learn

Yes, you can have a kick-butt sound system.
Yes, you can monitor the motor and ECM, with the appropriate hardware and software.
You can also have GPS navigation, mobile internet access, touchscreen control of mechanical devices (actuators, air suspension, etc.), and more. Think of what you can do (not necessarily what you actually do) with a PC in your home or office. You can do that on a PC in your vehcile, too.

If you want to know about vehicle computers, then these forums are 100% the correct place to do some learning.
Peruse the forums. Look at others' projects. Read the FAQs.
Ultimately, it's up to you whether or not you want to take the vehicle computing plunge.
