Using the standard Vauxhall Vectra (old version) headunit and having a carputer

    Hey Everyone,

I'm trying to work out if its possible to use the standard headunit buttons with a carputer, Like the volume knob, If there isnt a way of doing this. can anyone point me in the direction of a USB volume knobb that i can fabricate to do the same job.

I'm trying to get my carputer to look exactly the same as the standard headunit but taking out pretty much everything behind the center collumn except the aircon.

my main concern of putting a carputer in, is the fact someone might steal it. so i thought if i were to fabricate the car to look like its in its factory state but still have access to all the carputer's goods. it would help me.

I have a £20,000 budget for the carputer and gagets. i'm mostly doing this as a show peice (which is why the budget is high)

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thank you, i've been looking at Volumouse which looks very good. i might buy a crappy usb mouse and fabricate the volume knob that way.
