Well, first my name is Storm Johnson and i have been watching this site for some time trying to figure out how I am going to install a computer in my F250. I have finally broke down and started buying parts starting with a F650 lower dash unit i saw another member use. I am looking for all and any advice the more experianced people can give. I want the system to do mp3, over the air radio & sat. radio. Navigation and a back up camera would be nice along with security features. There is no need for it to be able to play dvds or play games but integration with my phone would make life a bit easier.
Thanks all in advance and hope to chat again soon

I don't know if you meant it to sound that way or not, but you won't be able to pull satellite radio for free out of the air. You would still need a subscription to the service, but you can buy hardware adapters to pull the satellite radio into your PC, and I believe just about every front end available has features/plugins for satellite radio.
Thank you Skeet.
Thank you JP, no i did not intend for it to come across that way. Yes i do know that you have to pay for the sat. service but thank you for the clarification.
I was looking at the MDT-x7000 for a monitor but i see there have been a great deal of bad reviews on it. To bad it seems like the perfect unit for limited space. Anyone have any ideas on other options. I would prefer not to have a monitor exposed where would be thieves can see it.
Thanks

You could try a tambour door setup. I have seen posts here where guys have done just that. Alternatively, some people cut the face off an old stock double din head unit and sit that in front of the lcd. Cleaver way to disguise an lcd.
