I would think all you need is a 12VDC source. So you can use a computer power supply and wire it up to output a 12VDC power source without being plugged into a motherboard.
Hi everyone
i bought a Bybyte NX 15000 last year and it is still in the box unused. I would like to test it in the house but do not know how to power it up. It has a M3 automotive power supply already inside. Any suggestions in laymen terms would be much appreciated. I live in the uk, and when i received the unit it had an american mains power supply with it, but there is nowhere to plug it in to the computer, are there any other power options available ?
Thanks Mick

I have an m4 that I power indoors using an old desktop psu in an old pc case. Just connect a wire to the case and stick it in the main plug coming from the psu. This should either have 20 or 24 wires. You want to stick it in the green wire. This grounds the psu and fools it into thinking it is connected to a mb. You will notice that the psu fan turns on. Use the yellow wire off one of the molex connectors. That will be 12v.
I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous - everyone hasn't met me yet .
Hi Rizaydog
Thanks for your help very much appreciated, so to clarify, i just stick the yellow cable labelled 12v ignition into the green socket on the psu and swith on the psu. see attached photos
thanks, mick
NO! Don't do that. The green wire needs to be connected to ground, not a 12v+ source. Connecting the green wire to a black wire (ground) will turn it on. Make sure the power supply is hooked up to something as well when you power it on.
