    First try at carpc

Just finally getting round to starting a carpc and thought i would just post up what i was planning to see if anyone can spot any where I'm going wrong.

I've managed to get my hands on a laptop that a friend broke the screen on so was thinking of using this. can i simply secure this in the glove compartment and run a car laptop charger to the battery or will this cause problems?

I would just then connect a 7inch screen to the vga output on the laptop and connect this to the battery also?

My head unit has an aux in so i can easily connect the laptop to the head unit.

Ill wire in a switch so nothing can drain power when the car is off.

    Any advise would be great

    Charlie

That sounds like my first setup.
I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous - everyone hasn't met me yet .

Or serial. But the best bang for your buck receiver (BU-353) is USB.

Yer i don't want to rush anything and tbh i dont have all the money in the world to poor away. So ill my main priority is the music and how well it works with my iTunes library, Then ill work on getting some sort of SatNav on the go. Any thing after that will just be when i have the money.
Does anyone have any info on using the iPhone with a carpc for phone calls as i know the bluetooth is rather limited on the iPhone.
    Thanks
