Do you want it to actualy pivot or turn ON?
How can I tweak my dome light so that it turns automatically while driving?

I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous - everyone hasn't met me yet .
Is this something usefull?

crisnos, that is nearly what I need. But I need the light to stay on, not gradually shut off.
I actually just want the light to become illuminated when the ignition is ON and remain illumniated. Like most cars, when my dome light is set to auto the light comes on when I open my car door, and then shuts off after closing the door. I think the only way to do this is to run a new wire from the fusebox to the dome light. The wire will make the dome light come on when the ignition is on.
Just wonder if there is a way to do this without running a new wire?

Odds are your dome light is controlled by a lighting control module, or some other electronic box tucked up under the dash. Finding the wire for the light down there might be easier to tap into than up at the light. I'd check a wiring diagram for your car.
I'd have to ask though, what would you want to dome light on while driving for? That is actually a pretty dangerous thing, as it will seriously drop your nighttime visibility.

Yeah, I'm not understanding why you would want your domelight to be constatly on either, but if that's what you want it's pretty easy. Depending on your car, you should be able to find a wire for the domelight under your dash like CraziFuzzy said. Easiest place to find it will be around the fuse box. Then use a relay so that when the ignition is on it also turns on the dome light.
