    Which LCD for my 04 F150 and Mac OSX- Where'd the FAQ go?

    This is one awesome site.

    I own a 2004 F150. I was talking to a buddy of mine about installing an Alpine or JVC touchscreen head unit. His reply - "why not just install a mac mini?". I've been pretty obsessed with figuring this out and found the thread where someone installed a flip down monitor that ran it.

    What I'd like to do is just install it on a touch screen in the dash in place of the regular head unit.

    Is this an insane idea?

    My only concern would be the lack of radio, is there a way around this?

    I'm also looking to buy and LCD that will just pop in the double DIN since I'm not mechanically inclined enough to customer fit one. Any ideas on this?

    I have a ton of other questions but had previously found the answers.

    Last week, I was reading an FAQ based on the installation in an F150 which had most of the info I needed but I've searched and searched and can't find it. Not sure if I am not searching the right thing or what.

    Your in luck as i just purchased an 06 F150 which should be the same generation and therefore the same dash.

    Now you might be able to shop around and find it cheaper depending on where you are, this is the cheapest one i could find after taking into account shipping to Canada. I also never looked if it is mac compatible, as im doing a pc build so that part never concerned me while i was doing my research.

    Now as far as the radio, thats a trick question and hopefully someone with more experience with MAC can add their .02. I know for PC there are USB FM recievers that go for around $20 or less on the itnernet. I assume it would just be a matter of finding an OSX compatible one.
