Hello Everyone,
Noob here and I have a question that I need answered in a very detailed manner. I'm trying to understand something in regards to a car pc and either stock radio or aftermarket radio. How would you connect your car pc to a stock radio or aftermarket in-dash radio. I see some cars with the radio still in there car and some without which I see as weird. If there was a way to have your car pc connected to an in-dash radio. I know with all these experts on this site someone can explain it. Thank you ......![]()

I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous - everyone hasn't met me yet .

Rizaydog is right, so many people have covered this topic on the forum. Since I'm in a good mood, I'll explain it. Basically some people do not like to remove the head unit because then you would have to have a AMP to drive the speakers. Also its easier to install, on after market radios there is a AUX in, so your PC would plug directly into the back of the HU. Now me, for example, I did not want to keep my bulky head unit, also I wanted superior sound quality in a 7.1 Surround sound setup, you cant do that with a head unit, so I got rid of it. Bad thing is you have to rewire the car and buy amps to power the speakers. My setup will have 3 amps and I really had to redesign to fit them in my setup. The end result though is an amazing sounding system that I honestly don't think a head unit can compete with. All in all its preference. If you want the easy way, then use a HU, if you want amazing audio, go without a HU, I never understood why people want to have a middle man between the PC and the speakers.
