How in the world do i get my system down to the 180w PSU range?

I seem to be at a complete loss as to how to power my car PC. I have done a huge amount of research reading and checking and cant seem to comprehend how you can make use of a 180 w or even 300w psu seeing as when you check the ampsXvolts on the OPUS 360W DC-DC ATX/BTX 12 rail is only 180 watts and using a PSU calculator I have determined that i need roughly 250 watts.

So is that projected wattage of 250 not strictly on the 12 rail?

If so what is using so much power?

as a note i am converting a desktop AMD sempron CPU for my use as car PC
    is this the issue?

Thank you more than you know for your help.

I really cant wait to get this project off the ground!

    **EDIT**

    Heres prospective Specs

First of all I want to thank you for using a descriptive thread title... you have no idea how happy this makes me.

Second, post your system specs so we can get a better idea of what you're trying to power.

Well the CPU alone draws 62W from what I can gather. I don't do AMDs so I dont know what rail it takes from. But the other stuff is small in comparison. The screen and the HD are the other biggies.

A form factor doesnt have a typical power draw.

I have had a P4 motherboard in ITX formfactor that took 80W+ for the CPU only. I have also had a microATX via C3 board which took less than 20W total.

But most people seem to use 35W processors.

    @ Nomader

Did that CPU come out of a actual tower or would it be the same one that would be found in a full size desktop tower?

i actually bought it together with a mATX board a couple of years ago..it is really a standard dektop cpu nothing special
though mine is actually a sempron 2800+ but it is the same wattage i think

Alright, so then is a setup like I described something possible to use on the same PSU as you are using? or dose it being a mATX board make it less of a wattage draw than a full size ATX?
