mp3 playing, fast forwarding to the next folder

    Hi,

I'm new to the car pc game but have done a bit of research and have set up my old HP DV1000 laptop in my car. I'm reasonably happy with the way I've got it set up for now (need to sort out a better screen etc but that's fine) except for the fact that I'm used to having head units that you can go up and down the music folders. Say for example you're listening to a particular album or artist and want to go on to the next one with the press of a button.

I'm using Winamp at the moment. Is there some plug-in or something that allows me to do this?

I apoligise if this has already been asked, I have had a search in the forum but couln't find anything.

    Cheers,
    Tim

I don't use WinAMP as my front-end so I can't answer your question. But the WinAMP forums will be the better place to ask this question. Let us know if things work out.

You might be able to get something like the Griffin Powermate and program it to do different things (up directory, down directory) - but read around and look around have heard some mixed reviews on the Powermate.
