Ok, so here is my project. I have a Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD and a 250w ATX Power Supply. I want to hook up my flip up in my room using the power supply. This is my progress so far. I have the yellow wire (power wire from the power supply) hook up to the red power wire on the head unit. I have another yellow power wire hooked up to the yellow memory wire. I have the black wire (ground from the power supply) hooked up to the black wire on the head unit.
Here is my problem. The head unit does not want to turn on when I press the source button, but this is the thing that boggles me. When I remove the face plate, the red security light is blinking. This leads me to believe the head unit is getting power. I tried resetting it (pressing the small button on the front of the head unit for 5 seconds then releasing) and nothing happened. I pulled out my volt meter and tested both the memory wire and power wire and both are getting power. We accidentally unhooked the power wire on the head unit one time leaving only the memory wire and ground hooked up and the security light was still blinking. This leads me to believe maybe it is something to do with the power wire?
Any suggestions/ideas to get this thing working? I read somewhere that the antenna has to be hooked up for the head unit to turn on, but find this hard to believe. I am not very educated in the car audio department so I could be very wrong.
Thanks so much,
Jordan
