CarPC in Escalade - retaining important audio alerts

Hello everyone! I'm planning a carPC for an '05 Escalade. I have a few details to work out, and I realized I have one piece to figure out.

My Escalade is equipped with onstar and bose. All of the truck computer alerts (seatbelts, warnings, back up warning, onstar, etc.) goes through the bose system. Yep - the little "bing" you hear to warn you about your seatbelt is played through the stereo. I plan on removing the stock headunit which means all those audio alerts will not be heard.

Has anyone worked around this? Is there an adapter or something that I could use?

    Thanks for anything helpful!

    Iz

Yeah, just use a GM OnStar specific car stereo adapter. Use that to to go between your carpc and the factory wiring, unsing your carpc as the stereo. It's something like this. The price is a bit steep for a harness, but it'll let you keep the chimes and OnStar, which I assume is what you wanted.
