check ebay-- i have seen 7" vga touch screens for as cheap as $40-$70-- well worth the investment, though some will complain about sunlight readablility on cheaper monitors.
You really need to search the forums. These questions have been asked a million times over. In any case I'll answer.... the panel kit will be no different than a mouse to interface with the PC, so it'll work. Basically just an overlay on your display. However I would not recommend going that route as your display will be fuzzy (assuming your connecting the screen via rca) and you'll be doing s fair amount of work to install the touchscreen overlay to make it look neat and functional.
I'm always amazed that people don't want to spend money on a proper vga touchscreen screen when imo it's the most important part of a car pc. It's the only hardware that you will interface with the most and believe me going any other route for input control is a big mistake.

Okay, it will work but IF your DVD HU is touchscreen, you won't be able to control the HU because it will be overlayed by the touchscreen you just installed.
And...before you ask....no, there is no adaptor to share the DVD HU touchscreen AND the PC. This is why Enforcer answered the way he did - highly unlikely.

Thank you for answering.
By the way I bought my screen way before I even knew what a carputer was, that's why I didn't by a VGA screen.
@Bugbyte - My HU is touchscreen and I don't want to lose the ability to control it so I'll stay away from the touchscreen panel kit.
Thanks to all that helped.
