most touchscreens has at least 2 connections to the pc
1) graphic signal (vga/dvi) output from pc, just like any screen
2) usb HID input to pc, like your mouse but require driver
Ok, if the CPU I plan to to run has a VGA port for use with a monitor, is VGA touchscreen compatible? Or only for non-touchscreen monitors?![]()

Just an FYI: CPU = Processor (Computers Brain) it doesnt have the VGA Port. Eiter your motherboard or a GPU (Graphics Card) are the ones with the VGA Port.
Using the wrong terminology can get confusing to the people helping you out (not in this case) and you then get wrong answers.
Yea you should be ok with that. you might have to install a driver before it will work properly though.

VGA is a minimum resolution of 640x480 pixels.
A screen capable of displaying VGA resolution is basically a high-quality standard-def television.
A screen capable of displaying VGA resolution does not necessarily mean that it has a PC VGA connector.
READ YOUR SPECS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU PURCHASE!
Look for a screen that has a 15-pin DSUB connector (also known as a 15-pin VGA connector).
