    Please critique my setup.

So here the deal i'm trying to make a good carputer for my car I'm running about 800 watts in setero equip already and I have a 140AMP alt.

This is what i'm thinking for my setup

    Power supply - Opus 360 $188.00
    .1 Mobo - Intel Model: BOXDG45FC (MiniITX) $124.99
    .2 or - AOPEN Model: 91.8ET10.N700 (Nvidia 9400) $247.28
    .3 or - Zotac GeForce GF9300-G-E $146.05
    CPU - Core 2 Duo E6850 $122.00
    RAM - 2 X 2GB $100
    Screen - 7" Lilliput EBY701 $175.95
    AMP - 4CH 480 WATT Motorcycle amp $45.00
    HDD - 1TB Green HD $99

    Option 1 total $854.94
    Option 2 total $977.23
    Option 3 total $876.00

I also have a few questions.
Could I wire the Motorcycle amp to the headunit power wire?
    Am I missing any parts?
What setup do you think is best?
If the power supply to big or small?

    Thanks.

    4GB RAM is overkill.

I think either mobo #2 or #3 would be better.

Your power supply can't really be too powerful.

If you plan on a case for this setup, expect issues squeezing the Opus PSU inside.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

    After a reviewing the 9300 vs 9400 I don't think the 9400 is worth 100 bucks more.

    my opinions and rants-

you said that you are already using about 800 watts of stereo equipment, why do you need the motorcycle amp? you should be able to tie in directly to the aftermaket amps that you already have..

if you still need the motorcyle amp, the ones that i have seen 'should' be able to be run off the radio harness, but if you are running wire anyways, why take the risk? just run a new wire.

it is really impossible to know what you are, or might be missing, or might be planning but not need... it could be that you need a certain type of cable that is only needed for one year of that model, that you happened to purchase... walmart(dirt cheap amp kits), bestbuy, and radio shack have tons of 'in-a-pinch' cables and accessories that should be able to help though.

The missing part was anything major. Like some kinda special PSU cable or somthing that has to do with the opus. The reason for the motorcycle amp is I have a sub amp and a stock 6X9 amp, I don't want to cut into any factory wires. the carputer will be in the trunk that is already wired, I really don't want to tear apart the carpet and side panels again to run one power wire to the motorcycle amp.

    i see..

you should be able to power the motorcycle amp off the factory harness(most need about a 10 amp fuse, which is the normal size for most car radios)-- just don't come after me if it starts popping fuses like popcorn

oh, another thing i just thought of-- for my version of the 9300 (according to the other thread you posted in on the 9300, i have the other version of that board-silver gpu heatsink) you might need a 20pin-female-to-24pin-male adapter cable to power the board, and if the power supply doesn't have it, possibly a 4 pin processor adapter power cable as well.

and one last thing-- i seem to have very odd issues with western digital drives-- not sure if that is what your planning on using(they are a green drive producer). both in my personal computer projects, and at work, and have a whole lot less problems with seagate drives(or at the very least, seagates will actually show errors in hdd tests).

Thank you this is just the type of info i'm looking for.

I can't seem to find the connectors the Opus 360 comes with :-( Can anyone tell me?

    Should have everything you need...

Could you explain your amp equipment better? Does the car come with a factory, 800 watt stereo, or...?
Why the extra 4 channel amp? And WHY a motorcycle amp??

The car comes with a stock AMP 400 watts I think but it only powers the back 6X9s Might be 200 watts I forget how much, then the rest of the speakers are powered off the head unit. Then I have an Amp in the trunk for the subs.
