Can I hook up a car-pc to my pioneer AVH-P4100DVD and use it as a touch screen
to run it. I was thinking of look for vga to a video output like this http://www.amazon.com/6ft-component-.../dp/B000FM3EQ0 putting it to the video input on the back of the deck and running it as video in off the touch screen dose any one think this will work. I would try it but do not want to mess up my deck.
You could use the screen as a screen, but the touch functionality would not work without a connector for that (and I'm pretty sure your head unit does not have the proper connections to allow passing of touch functionality). But so long as you don't want the touch aspect and just want the video aspect, that should work. Good luck!
The link point to a vga to component video, and I don't see component inputs in the Pioneer.
You'd have to use a vga to composite adapter, in the 25-55 dolar range:
And I agree with the above, touch wouldn't work.
Thanks I was hoping that this would work now I need to find a touch screen in Canada
that will not cost me an arm and a leg to ship.
I checked a few ebay seven inch touchscreens for shipping cost and the difference between US-California and Canada-All was ten dollars at worst. Good luck mate!
