    Will This Setup Work?

I'm looking for a wifi setup in the car so I can transfer music from my PC to my car. I was thinking of a carputer but I don't want to get rid of my Kenwood dnx9960 since already it's a double din. Is it possible to keep everything I have already, get something like a handheld touch screen (not mounted type) that I can put in my glovebox and when I want to listen to music from my carputer I just pull it out? Hopefully this makes sense.

    Thank you

    My Setup

    Kenwood DNX9960

0/1ga From Battery 4ga To Amps
    - Kicker sx1250.1
    - Kicker sx700.4
    - Kicker sx400.2
    - 2 12" L7s

4ga From battery 8ga To Accessories
    - Inverter To Plug In Stuff
    - Aftermarket Gauges
    - Other Accessories If Needed

Maybe one of the USB touch screens would work?

I was looking at my manual and my HU has av output and av input. Can't I just buy something like an eeepc and hook it up using the av cable? How would the quality be, the specs for the HU is 800x480.

    Thanks

If the HU & PC have matching specs - yes.
EG - HU is composite input (likely) and EEPC is composite output (unlikely), or both are VGA etc.

you will need a converter box (something like this)http://www.canadacomputers.com/produ...item_id=019368 to change the vga signal from eeepc to composite video out the eeepc might be bad for videos though for mp3's you'll be fine SNO

to sum this up a little more-- most computers have a minimum resolution of 800x600 pixels(some of them you can custom define, but that is a different story).

composite video connections are setup to accept a maximum of 480 horizontal lines. so out of the 800 lines of computer resolution, almost every other line of video needs to be removed to make a composite-video-compatible signal. which is what makes small text so hard to read.

the other issue with connecting to the kenwood is the touchscreen. there is no easy way to use the touch screen to control the computer. you would still need to use a mouse, or keyboard, to control the pc.

I dunno sounds like you're ripe for an Ipod Touch!
