Using a tablet screen for a carpc (lots of questions)
Hi, I am new to the forum, but have been busy researching here and other places for more information on what I am trying to do. I have a touchscreen tablet donor that I want to build a system around, but I am at a loss when it comes to converting the ribbon to a usable interface (VGA or DVI, or preferably USB). I have a lot of experience in building pc's and car systems, but no experience with modifying displays. I am willing to solder, hack or whatever it takes to get this to work, I just need a direction or some links as far as where to go from here.
I understand that I will most likely have to buy a usb interface controller for the 4-pin touchscreen cable, but if there is a way around that I'd like some advice as well.
The guts of my system will most likely be one of the setups I have lying around or my Mini HP.
The pictures are of the three cables coming from the screen. A high/low power wire, a 4-pin cable for the touchscreen, and a 20 pin cable that I am trying to convert from. If you need more pics, I can take more.
The screen is a 10.4 inch Philips LC104S1 A1, if that makes a difference.
Thanks for any help or advice.
