typically, yes, that is the way speakers are usually setup, though i have seen too many manufacturers change something to met their own needs so a 'pop' test would be best to confirm...

by pop test you mean connecting a battery and seeing which way the cone moves? i can't do that without pulling the rear parcel shelf out.. which if i do that means even MORE of my car is in parts..
Don't really want to do that if i don't have to..

in the image you supplied, just touch a battery to the terminals, and see which way it goes. or you can try to use a friend with a flashlight to watch the cone, and connect to the wires coming out of the radio harness. neither should require removing any more body panels.

but from the direction of the picture you took, you can see the cone-- so that is enough-- as long as the cone moves away from you, that is all the confirmation you need..

    Couldn't get in the boot...
Ended up taking out the parcel shelf, and yes the larger connector is the positive
So.. all speakers now wired up.. just waiting on a couple of cables from ebay, and can install the PC, and power cables.
I'd guess i'm probably about 40% through the install now..

so anyone tried anything like this for connecting their phone to their PC?
    http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smal...ducts_id=17363

I assume that's how you use the phone etc? Calls/mute blah blah blah..
though i'd still need a decent mic...

Damnit.. so i got what i thought was a 'good' vga extension cable, but i have ghosting on the screen.. like shadows of the windows.. i guess this means it's actually a crap vga cable? or there's no getting away from this with 5m cables?

Try the cable away from the vehicle?
I would guess that ghosting would be mostly caused by things around the cable.. so could happen to any cable..
