Well i just installed windows and its updates to get it current as well as installed Centrafuse and configured it. Ordered usb bluetooth dongle, ide to laptop ide adapter and a 4 port usb hub. Also installed my wireless g adapter on my pc. Currently bidding on a 2.2ghz p4 on ebay so if i get that it should help out on speed a little and maybe upgrading to 1gb or 2gb of ddr.

My sisters bfriend has a 7" lcd im going to trade an antenna for if it looks good when he brings it over (its brand new but im not sure on what brand it is). If that lcd is worth trading for then all that will be left is ordering a 250w M4 intelligent psu and finding my dash bezel out of a junk yard. Im going to use a 60GB laptop drive i have since it will take up less space than the 3.5 (if it gets damaged im not to worried, ill replace it with a 3.5). Thanks for all the info guys.

i still don't think there is any evidence of 3.5's being better then 2.5's, or 2.5's being better then 3.5's(i don't know if there is any way to reliably, and consistantly prove this either way)...

imo, use the drive that works for you...

I actually purchased one of the m4-atx units off ebay for about $29. I didn't come with any cables but it had 1.3 firmware and works great. Total cost was about $40 after making my cables.

Well i just realized that i have a core 2 duo e6300 and 2gb ddr2 1066 setting around doing nothing so im thinking about getting a itx lga 775 mobo to use with that which will draw around 150watts under load and be faster than 1.8ghz p4 with 512mb of ram.

my budget for a mobo is around 50-60 bucks. I was looking at this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128388

    or http://cgi.ebay.com/ZOTAC-nVidia-GeF...item2c54a57ca3

(edit) i have enough room for either a micro atx or a itx motherboard so thats what im looking for.
I found this mobo as well

I have the m4 being shipped today so i should have it in a few days. I still havent decided on a motherboard yet. Do you all think the c2d 1.86ghz undervolted with the 2gb of ram is too overkill or should it be fine.

I dont think that this setup will pull more than 160 watts and with the cpu being undervolted it should stay pretty cool. I have it setup on a full atx motherboard and it idles at 27C with a passive tower cooler on it that ill be using in the car.

For cooling im going to mount 2 silent 120mm fans on front of the storage compartment door in the back of my blazer and then mount another two for exhaust on the side of the storage compartment that will blow air back into the cabin.

Im going to build a "tray" for all the components to be mounted to and then it will be bolted to the storage compartment. The only issue im having is how im going to extend the usb cables and monitor cables for the screen thats going on the dash. Is there any problem with extending these cables or should it be fine. Thanks for the awesome help.

    (edit)
just finished running occt for max cpu usage any my max temps were 32C for the cpu and 42c for each core. I just rebooted and added a fan to the hs and now it idles at ambient (75F) and the cores are at 33C. At full load the cpu is 29C and 40c for each core. I think i should be good on cooling even in summer time heat.

Got the screen in yesterday, (not sure what brand it is some unit off ebay that i traded a outdoor antenna for, its brand new) seems to work great. Psu is in and it works good, went ahead and made a usb cable to make sure everything is on the up and up. Installed wifi, and bluetooth dongles so now im just waiting on my motherboard.

I just cut a motherboard tray out of a old pc case and im going to figure up a way to mount it to the body of my truck. Really the only thing left to do is to figure out what im doing for a dash mount because i cannot find a bravada bezel, and to get some 8 gauge cable to power the pc with.
