    POwer supply

    Is it better to hook up a monitor with its own power supply ot share with the computers?

    There are too many variables that are left out of your post to begin to answer.

    What monitor? What PSU? What PC specs?
    Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

    Old tube VDUs - yes.
    But LCDs etc should not have high start-up currents.

    It does not matter, but make sure you have a fuse either way.
