Hello, first build, just getting started.

So I'm finally realizing a long dream I have had to build a Car PC. Well thanks to my work, I have an Intel DN2800MT mounted in a microATX chassis with a 32GB SSD. I have added Wi-Fi and bluetooth so far. System is a 1.8Ghz Dual core ATOM with 4GB of RAM.
No monitor yet, and I haven't started to install as I want all the pieces to the puzzle first, and thanks to a custody battle for my son, this will have to come slow. I plan to install this in my 01 Mercury cougar within the next year. A few questions I have though...

1.) What is the best FREE Front end to use?
2.) What kind of FM tuner should I get? I want it to integrate internal as this will replace my cars audio system altogether.
3.) Best 8" touchscreen that will have good day/night resolution and visibility
4.) Since this board s already set-up to use a 12V ac adapter, Power should be easy, but what are my options for a shutdown controller?

Sorry, I have a lot of problems getting on the site most days, and I try to search and look through. I find users personal opinions easier to take though.

a carnetix 1900, 2940(sp?), or dc-dc-usb would take care of both powering it and the shutdown controller.

2. ask in the RideRunner forum. RR supports all fm tuners known to man..
3. Lilliput 889GL is good (IMO)

i did for a while-- worked good for basic stuff, but i built a carpc specifically for audio processing to compete with high end car audio units-- with eq's, crossovers, etc, and it was not up to that(it is very cpu intensive stuff), but i was otherwise happy with how it worked with rr and played music.
