Greetings - want to update 2000 VW GTI headunit to Carputer! Need suggestions!

Greetings all! I'm an auto and computer enthusiast and figured this is a great place to come to learn about what I want to do. I have the factory had unit in my 2000 VW GTI and I would like to install a double DIN LCD touch screen that will allow me to browse files, play music and movies, GPS navigation and maybe even surf the net with my tethered Samsung Galaxy S3.

I remember finding (what I think I remember) was a samsung double din touch LCD on ebay a few months back but now I can't find it anywhere. There were a number of video input options, HDMI, or DVI/VGA, with a prcing difference. Does anyone know of the unit I'm referring?

So, if anyone has any suggestions as to where to start, I'd love to hear what you have to say!

I think that is exactly what I was looking for. I'm partial to Samsung products over the other small screens that I have seen. Are there any reviews on them?

That whole thread is the progress of derrick fine tuning a product for the carputer. I have the screen and the early controller and it is very bright and clear. there are some pics in that thread too by other members as well. SNO
