How to insert text in between pictures?

I want to start a worklog but was wondering how do people insert text in between the pictures? like for instance: there is text describing the picture > picture > there is text describing the next picture > next picture and so on..

When i upload picture from my computer to the site (here), they all appear on after the other and i can't figure-out how to separate them with text. Looking at some other post, i noticed that the pictures that are separated by text are all stored off-site and there's a link to them in the post..is that the only way it can be done.

    Appreciate any help.

I like to put all my pictures on a hosting site like Picasa Web, then I write up my post in notepad, and copy paste it to post.

    Name: post pics.JPG
Views: 99
Size: 203.2 KB

I just copy paste a bunch of the image tags on my sheet, then write the text I want, then insert the image url between the image tags. Once done, I have a copy in my notepad file in case something went wrong while posting, so I can try again.

i think it's better to upload the pics here as attached file.
because they stay for longer time/forever.

    Not necessarily.
Besides, there's a limit to the number of images you can attach to a post on the forums here.
Photo hosting sites (Instagram, ImageBucket, ImageShack, Flickr, Picasa, etc.) can host many more.

Besides, these frums are an afterthought to the mp3car.com staff. That means it's not well-maintained and moderated by volunteers.
The volunteers do a great job, but they can't actually fix anything if something goes wrong.
It's possible (albeit unlikely) that the forum database gets corrupted to **** and your images are lost.
I've seen it happen other places.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Also, sometimes you might want to cross post some of those photos. I posted pictures of my 8" touchscreen installed, speaker glow rings, and glowing cup holder on the Camaro5.com forum, in a topic about lighting mods, but just copy pasted from my text file to make the process quick and easy.

Thanks for you inputs. I see advantages and disadvantages to both uploading here or elsewhere. I think I'm going to try uploading here because in my experience, I've been able to see pictures and access files stored here as opposed to the off-site ones because the image host site remove or disallow the link after some time.

I need to fire up my FTP site at cox, that's what my lazy a** need to do.

    Again, thanks for your advise.
