    hardwired usb charging port

    Anyone know of a good guide to install a usb charging port into a car for phone / tablet? Could I just use a regulated dc to dc 12v to 5v 2a step down transformer or would I need something else as well? info and help appreciated.

    I got a panel mount usb port off ebay...3amp supply its quite good..ill find the link and post it

    Interesting do You know if its regulated power Bit iffy about plugging an expensive phone into a non regulated power supply.

    5v 3 amp..seems to work well.
    Self regulated from 12-14 v
