I should also mention I first surfed this site a few years back when it just features cars. I was hooked from then.

Have been into Home Theater Computers for a couple of years. An automobile computer seemed like a natural extension.

An user at the avsforums pointed me in this direction.

Well, i don't have a car or even a driving license, but I will get those in few months. I have been interested in computers since we got our first one (386)in my home and it would definetily be nice to have mp3-player and GPS in car. My friend had Epia M9000 or something like that and he sold it a few months ago to buy a real computer. The guy who bought it was building a carputer and my friend told me that so that's how I got the idea to build one. I think I found this site via Google.

Well - if any one asks me any for any info I point them this way, there are loads of links from my own sites but I also refer back here when in other forums - ie http://www.thisstrife.com/carproject..._chapter_4.asp & http://www.vvoc.co.uk

    Terran

Just out of interest Zip... what about publishing stats of the traffic to mp3car.com - I am sure others may be intrested in see how it all breaks down, visits, hits, and where its all coming from...

Yup, it was Terran's site that led me here. I've had some fun setting up my home network but not so much fun ripping all of my CD's onto HD. Once I had them there I wanted to make the most of them.

I liked the idea of all my music in my car so did a search for "car MP3" players.

Now I've got almost a complete set-up ready to be assembled and tested (not putting it in my current car as I plan to change in a couple of months).

It all started with this insane idea that I've had for several years. I wanted to make a wooden computer case. At first I wanted it to match the furniture, but generally be just a normal (but wooden) case. Then I thought I should make it look different. I was going to make it look like an old fender guitar amplifier, then I saw a guy who made one look like an antique radio with a mini-ITX board. That lead me to the mini-ITX site. That lead me to the www.thisstrife.com forum, which lead me here. Suddenly I knew the antique radio idea was lame compared to putting a unit in my car!! Now I'm hooked. Parts are ordered, it's all coming together thanks to all the info on this forum.

    Thanks Ziplock and everyone else!
