    Help Not Bash

Just would like a simple carputer solution to run mp3's and DVD's. It will also run MAME, but I can handle joysticks. I would like component names if possible. I am budget minded. Do you guys rip or store dvd's on your hard drive? Thanks for the help. By the way, I know where and did use the search function. I know cars and I know computers, just don't know them married.

okay, so what is the question here?

do you want suggestions on what to use for a system? something capable of mp3, dvd, and mame (with joysticks)?

basically, anything above probably a 500mhz would be able to do all that...

im sure a lot of people here do dvd ripping, but since this site doesnt deal with any pirating of software or other copyrighted items, it isnt discussed. there are plenty of references on the net on how to rip and store dvds. check on google, we dont want to get involved in that sort of thing here... thanks.

I was asking for suggestions on power, board, and simplicity. I guess I'd even like to know a good lcd(touch)-less cords and remotes the better. I wasn't asking for permission to pirate as I have a pretty decent store bought collection of dvd's. I was just wondering if you guys load them individually or have your own stored on the hard drive. I don't pirate either, the mame games I have, which aren't many, I own the original game board also. Thanks for your reply. I have children, so simple music, movies and entertainment is what I'm after. Thanks.

Then you would want a simple setup, no fancy shmansy stuff. Epia motherboard, Opus Solutions PSU, Digitalww touchscreen, some cables here and there and you are set.

Search for the forums for the above mentioned items, you will find a lot info on them

The EPIA M10000 Nehemiah is great for playing DivX or DVDs or Mame.

What about suggestions on case or some form of casing? The computer side of it I'm fine with but well I was looking at the travla sieries cases but since I will be going with a Opus powersupply it seems like a waste of money. Any idea on how to case my slim notbook hardrive, epia mobo, slimslot dvd or possibly just slot dvd drive and the opus?
