Hands Up, Complete Novice - Advice please.

To put it simply, I'm not a modified car freak, all I want is a system where I can hook up my mp3 player to my car. It doesn't have to look pretty, as long as its practical. Here is what I have to play with:

1 Ministry of Sound 5 series mp3 Jukebox, with 20GB hard drive. Only 1 standard earphone socket output.

1 Sony Xplod CDX-MP40 with 2 standard audio bus inputs and an audio bus controller input.

I've tried connecting the mp3 player to the 2 standard audio bus inputs with no success and now realise I need some sort of connection that includes an audio bus controller lead.

Is there such a thing available or am I just banging my head against a brick wall? By the way, I'm from the UK.

    Thanks

    I think you need this:
Sony XA-300 Auxiliary Input Adapter for Unilink Receivers

Im in the same situations, all I need is an AUX input on my sony. Have seen that product before but I think its been discontinued. The function it has and hence the price.

I simple audio bus hack would be useful...I havnt look into it yet but it should be possible

That certainly looks the job I need. Thanks. If its been discontinued its a pity, but I'm sure there'll be some knocking around somewhere. I'll start searching.

    Keep the ideas coming.

    Thanks

What input's does it have? my Sony stereo has 2 sets of RCA pre Outs, and 1 RCA in, thats for the cd changer control.

Get yourself a cheap Sony cd changer, and plug the single RCA input into your mp3 player, then when you select CD changer, it will allow you to play your mp3's through the headunit, as it will think the sound is coming from cd changer.

This is what I did with mine, I dont think it will work without the SONY bus controller connected.

You mean plug the mp3 player into the cd changer? If so, that sounds like a plan. I haven't got a cd changer so don't know if thats what youmean.

It didn't work without the bus controller connected when I connected it to the phono inputs in the back of the head unit. The inputs my Sony unit has is basically for a cd changer.
