Thread: Sound quality concerns with Car PC

Hey i'm a newb too.

I would suggest an audigy (1st gen is fine) or a late generation live for sound quality and responsiveness. I have yet to see a mobo-mounted SC that performs as well as these CLSB's.

I'm using a 400W Power inverter for my XPC, and that's more than i need.

Now questions for the setup.

#1What should i run for power supply? I have seen the Opus being used alot. I also saw some 120W DC-DC power supplys for cars for pretty cheap. Which is a better choice?
#2 the sound quality off the motherboard how will it be? i am scared for this and was wondering if it would be wiser to run a external sound card. Should i wire it straight into my amps and then to my speakers(i run Morel Hybrid 6 and PPi art series A404.2 with a Infiniti Kappa perfect 10"). Searching i have seen someone who first wired it into Their Eq which gave them 3 RCA outputs and then into their amps. I dont really want to run a headunit unless i HAVE to....
