A few questions: mostly sound
Been lurking around the boards for a while but I'm starting to build my carputer.
The first step in building my carputer is getting a headunit (I think...) to put out enough power from the computer to the speakers. Most likely going to go with the Alpine 9815. Or can someone suggest me a better way (sound quality wise\cost) I don't want to run it from just an amp because you can't tune the sound as well and worried about the sound card not pushing enough power to the amp.

I will probably flush mount the LCD screen in a 2 DIN space or just fabricate the plate for it. Have the headunit in the lower panel. But this leaves no room for access to the DVD rom drive. Can slot load DVD drives eject vertically? Space is a big problem to me, as I drive a small car. I'm really hoping to fit the computer behind the screen. Below is a picture to see what I'm working with. Not a great picture, I'll take another one tomorrow. BTW the panel behind the shift knob slides out to 2 cup holders. I still want to be able to use them. I can buy or fabricate a panel below the current headunit, above the cupholder to hold the new headunit.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
