VGA to RCA adapter... will this work?

    eBay link

I have the PS1 5" LCD...for now. I'm in the process of planning my first car computer, so I didn't want to spend all the cash on a 7" NOW. Anyway, I need a VGA to RCA adapter and came across that one on eBay. Now, I know this won't work as well as a converter boxes. However, will it work for my needs? I figure it could go two ways... the first is that the 5" LCD is so small, it won't even be a noticable difference in quality. The second, which I'm worried about, is that it will make the 5" LCD picture so blurry, and since the screen is so small already, that it will be a TERRIBLE picture.

Do you think it would be usable, or no? I'm trying to go as cheap as I can for now just b/c its my first car computer and all, so if it wont' make that big of a difference I'd rather just buy this

    Thanks

If your video card needs to have composite out capability, wouldn't it also have a composite out connector? (Defeating the need for this adapter cable???)

The $5 cable does not convert anything. Those are made for laptops which output Svideo and composite through the extra wires of the VGA connecter. If you hook that up to a regualr card nothing will happen.

The second auction actually converts the signal, so that would work. I have a "apple presentation system" which is exactly like that one in the auction.

No idea. I buy old computer parts and video game systems all the time at second-hand stores. Picked this up a year or 2 ago for a couple bucks. I'll use it eventually. It was still shrinkwrapped when I got it

This only has input for mac, but the old mac (powermac era) used the same signals afaik. I do have an old 200mhz powermac somewhere but I just never got around to testing it.

    Connecter here: http://www.national-tech.com/catalog...oradaptors.htm

But you can pick one up at most computer stores I think.

    And Ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=25449

$.99 + $6 shipping. Judging from past auctions (http://search-completed.ebay.com/sea...ompletedonly=1) You may get lucky
    (not my auction btw)
