Dont confuse your stock "premium sound" with a true amplified signal. it more of a power boost than anytihing else. In the case of my Bose sytem in my corvette the speakers contained a small circuit board that was supposed to be an amp. this would only function with a bose deck or if you replaced the deck you needed to get an adapter to use the stock speakers. If your system is anything like that you will be better off replacing the entire thing, speakers and all. that is what i had to do in the corvette.
