Hey guys,
Just wanted to get your opinion on my system I think I'm going to get. This will be going into a Maxima. I'm not exactly sure on what i'm going to get yet, but I do want competition level sound. This is my first system, so if you have any comments/suggestions please post them.
Subs: Rockford Fosgate RFR3115 HX2 15"
Sub Amp: Maybe Rockford X7??? Looking to get about 1.5k wats each. Any suggestions?
6.5" Components in the front of some sort.
6.5" 3 ways of some sort in the rear.
All most likely running into the same amp.
I'm going to sound proof the whole car eventually. Should this be done before installation?

Is just one coat enough, I've heard of some people putting on two coats; would this be noticable?
Depends on what you're using, Dynamat yeh one coat would do it, but be ready to lay down some big $$. do a search for Rammat, or brown bread. people have also used the spray rubberized undercoating for small areas as well as the expandable spray foam ( used that in the small area in my rear hatch and it works fine)Originally Posted by SavageKabbage

im not a big fan of 15" subs..... i don't like 13". if you got the room for a 15 get two 10" it will be louder than you will ever need and will have lots more definition. the most importent thing is to size the box to your sub. NEVER use the walmart/bestbuy pre made box. I would have to tell you to go with 1)focal 2)eclipse 3)boston acoustics they are all in the top 5 as far as SQ. If it was my car, I would do the alpine H-700 feeding a (pa5422 or ea3422) and bi-amp the front comp, EA2212 for the back, and also a DA7122 for the sub. the front speakers would be sc8362 6.5" comp. and rear would be SP8962 point source. and a SW9102 in a 2'^3 ported box.

Thanks Killerfishes. I'll have to look into that. Never made a sub box before thoughHope I can do it right the first time.
Are you going for SQL or SPL. If you want competiton level bass then stick with the 15's instead of the 10's. But if you want SQL then the 10's are a good idea. 15's are just too low for that. They miss too many higher bass notes.

depends on what model sub. 3 of the titanium comparable to the w7 in price or alum. would kill your wallet but would play over 140db and down to 25hz. if the subs did not kill your wallet the amp's would. It would be easy to run 2 or 4 as eclipse makes an amp for a speaker, or set. I would do either 2 87101 DVC in a 3.38ft^3 "combined" box tuned too 22.68hz with a 34230 amp. or two alum. in a 6ft^3 "combined" box tuned to 22.25hz with a DA7232 amp. The alum and composite in the listed box size will have the same response, the alum. will be louder and more crisp. but they have the same range. I will tell you out of experience that the alum. are REAL crisp, I have a 12" and it will out perform most 10" what made me mad is that the 10 will play deeper than the 12's in the right box, so im planing on going to one titan. 10" with the class D DA7122.
