Downside to inverter via cigarette lighter?

Ok, I did a search and found nothing.

What is/are the downside(s) to using an inverter via cigarette lighter as opposed to from the battery?

I ask because I want a carpc in my new car, and don't want to void the warranty by running wires.

    Thanks in advance.

the biggest problem I see there is the car's existing wiring for the cigarette lighter isn't meant to handle anywhere near as much power as you could pull through an inverter. besides, I've never heard of a warranty being voided for someone running a wire from the battery, you do the same thing for stereos and thats never a problem.

It looks like **** But if you dont want to void warranty, It's a alternative...
Ask the car makers, you should be able to install a stereo or a motor heater along with coupe heater outlet (-40deg C where I live) without warranty problems.
