    CARPUter w/o cd/dvd drive

    was just wondering, i have a carputer but it doesnt have a dvd or cd drive, i kinda opted to get a separate dvd player to play DVDs in my car. now, my problem is how do i install the LILLIPUT DRIVERS to my computer? can i just download it? hope you guys can help me out! thanks!

    You could download from www.digitalww.com, or save to a usb thumbdrive....ect. There are ways of doing this, depends on what you have to work with.

    My carputer doesn't have any drives apart from the hard drive. To get new software or music on to it, I just hook up the network and copy from another machine.

    The fun bit was "bootstrapping" the system with a temporarily bodged floppy drive in order to get any software on it at all (once I had DOS 6 and the NDIS drivers installed, everything was ok).
    Old Systems retired due to new car

    Use a thumb drive, use your NIC with a crossover cable or switch, use serial cables, use firewire, use a USB network cable, Use a wireless NIC in ad-hoc mode, use some common s...

    Well, considering I ment cynical and not clinical.
    I just thought alternative ways of transfering files was just common knowledge. Sorry, I got a little out of hand.

    If you're on a network, you can control your car-puter's functions through it from another machine. But I think you might need windows xp

    not really. Just copy the file to a DIR. on the carputer and then execute it on the carputer.

    Any windows OS can handle this. Well, any one other than Windows 3.1.
