Anyone know if I will need power inverter as well as the ITPS?
Chewiee
I am currently looking at getting the above PC and kit from cartft.com
I noticed on their site that when you do the system builder, you can only choose either:
( ) 98.40 EUR DC/DC Converter for Epia ITX [info]
( * ) 45.00 EUR ITPS-Auto Power Sequencer and Dropout Regulator [info]
Do I not need to purchase a separate OPUS70W or OPUS150W?
Will I be able to connect this directly up to my car battery?
I am looking to put this in an Amigo, so any help and advise would be lovely!

No Opus needed with ITPS + PW series power supply (or whatever comes with the Travla)Originally Posted by chewiee

Will I have problems with the 'crank' when I start my car up? I am only wondering because you hear about it on this forum, will I have to do anything with capacitors or the like!
From the cartft.com website, it looks like you can order everything from there and just plugin and go.
Have I missed anything?
I so wanna get it this month, I just needed to know if I'll need anything else.
I was gonna add a 30A fuse to the power, any other suggestions?

Yes, probably. ITPS contains a linear regulator which also has the side effect of throttling your current to 5A.Originally Posted by chewiee
You can try, but it's not a guaranteed solution. Switching the ITPS and the Travla power supply for an Opus is likely to be more effective.Originally Posted by chewiee
Not apart from the Opus.Originally Posted by chewiee

Anyone know how much it'll cost to get an Opus 150 shipped to the UK (assuming I'll need that over the smaller on... whats the difference)... this is on the cartft.com site, is this the same as the opus:

I've just been on the phone to them.
Their prices seem pretty fair.
I'll go and start another thread now![]()
