Extreme Newb Questions... (please advise)

Being the extreme Newbie I am, and the fact that I have worked on Macs for most of career, I need help in spec'ing out a Car PC. My needs are nothing extroardinary, but I am looking for the following...

MP3 ability
DVD playing
GPS/Navigation viewing

I am wanting to use the ever-popular Lilliput 7" TS for the interface, and mounting it in the Double DIN Dash area. I have an Alpine HU, which will be relocated to the AC knob area, and the knobs relocated to the headliner with an Expedition overhead console.

The fab work doesn't worry me, however the computer component selection does, and just need to make sure that everything is kosher!

I have a 2003 Sport Trac, and have concealibility behind the rear seat, or under it for the PC.

Please advise me on the PC specs.

There are some people that installed the system in similar car. You might want to check "Show off your project" section.
