If that head unit is double-din, then take that out and put a 7" touchscreen in that gap. Wire up the computer to an amp, and hook into the existing audio harness, and you'll be fine

You even have a cover to go over the screen when not in use, which should make it less attractive to theives, as they won't know it's there

you might beable to moterise the shied(cover) so it opens/closes automaticly, show off to your friends

Scion TC is the sedan right? Get the $3g supercharger
Ok anyway take out that HU and just mold a screen in there and that cover flips down to cover up so that spot just becomes perfect. Stock double din units are trash anyhow (and scion isn't exactly a luxury brand). then Im sure you can moun the carputer in the glovebox.
    Mine needs to be updated.

    thanx to all whom replied
so far i need to ...
take out the hu and install a 7 in. lilliput
so if the lilliput is smaller than the head unit what do i need to do?

connect the computer to the amp and hook into the radio harness
will i need additional wires for that?

maybe motorize the cover so it opens close automatically
that is a great idea too bad im not a electronic whiz i would need ALOT of help on that lol

    mold the screen
i will probably do a search on this because i may need bondo and fiber glass am i correct? if i do i dont think i would wanna be the one messing with that because i have never worked with either before..

can ya help me out some more guys? thanx in advanced

mold the screen so it fits (bondo, fiberglass), the forum for info

connecting the pc to amp will require aditional wires, if car doesnot have an external amp you might need one of those 2. also might need a pci/external sound card for better quality audio

moterising the cover will need looking at how it actualy works behind, could be as simpe as a moter pulling the cover back via cogs

bondo isn't too bad man, in fact i just finished sanding my bondo'd up dash piece and am waiting for the primer to dry heh. Basically you let it dry and sand it to your liking. you cant screw up really cause its easy to take off and reapply. anyways, i had a double din and i just took a few pieces of balsa wood and put them in between the edges of the lilli and the dash panel thingy and superglued/epoxied the lilly in there. now its stuck in there pretty good . after that i filled in the gaps where the wood wasn't flush with bondo, and then sanded the front part of the lilly down a bit where it sticks out. then bondo/sand, bondo/sand and after you do that use the really thin bondo, its orange and i think its called spot filler or something, dunno. and then paint it...not bad really, i'll post pix when mines completed.

    thanx grayscale

so what im gettin from bondo is i need to put it on a certain place so i can put it in the dash if there is a big gap from the screen to the dash. ok.

ok so i have to buy a small or mini pc to store in the glovebox and run the wires to the lilliput i got that so far

so what type of problems i might run into since im a newbie at this? and what solutions?

    cooling and power

power people recomend a DC-DC supply (opus are good, but they are pricy).
DC-DC supply is basicly a ATX supply that runs of 12v

Cooling in the glovebox, put some sort of extraction/vents to stop overheating.
