Question Newbie- needs tons of help.

Well i have decided that im going to be putting a carputer in my NSX, and
need to know where to begin. I have done all my work with audio systems, but need tons of help here. I want to make sure i do it right.

    Hardware:

Im thinking about one of getting the TM710VGT 7", and one of those Cappuccino Mini-Book's, but dont know where to go from there.

Any suggestions on a good set-up?

    Start/shutdown:

I dont want to get in my car and have to wait for the puter to boot up. Is there anyway that you can just put the computer to sleep manually with the start menu " sleep " in XP, and when you get back in the car just tap the screen and wake it up like you would with a mouse? ITPS, sounds good... BUT what if you just take the car 3 min down the road and get out the car to get a coke or run in bestbuy, then you got to wait once again for the computer to boot up. I want to be able to get in my car and when i turn the key maybe wait a min. This is why the sleep mode would be great. IM sure that its not a good idea and would like some input.

DOesnt powering up and down the computer put a lot of ware and tear on the computers and cuase them to foul out?

    Power:

Inverters,The Mp3Car Auto Power Sequencer (voltage regulator) and Low Dropout Regulator (shutdown controller) and ITPS the same???

    Laptop:

What if im using a laptop like a sony picturebook for my computer?

    Screen:

Is the image as clear and crisp as a 7" lcd on a indash Clarion VRX935VD dvd player? (what i have insalled in my nsx now)Whats the best 7" ? I have been reading about a lot of problems with them being able to turn them on and off. Shouldnt i be able to get in my car start the car and by then the computer be booted up and all i have to do is push the on/off button on the touchscreen and everything all up and ready to go?

Point blank is that im a lost to what need to be bought and what and how needs to be done. Although once i find out, i can go from there without a problem. I just want to make sure i get all the stuff i need and the right stuff to do it with.

    THANKS.

POG by now I'm sure you've figured out that the VGA monitors are FAR clearer than your Clarion which is not VGA. Where do you plan on mounting the PC? Even the tiniest PCs out there wont fit in the glove without some cutting. I'm putting the laptop behind the seat, maybe attach it to my dali harness bar somehow.
