I just bought a 2004 Super Black 350Z Touring Roadster and I want to install a car pc. I want to completely replace the head unit with this system.

You cant go wrong with LogicSupply, they are a great company to do business with.

I'd get a bigger hard drive, they fill up really quickly.

I would not get that external cd-rw. If you read carefully you'll note it is NOT a DVD rom. Spend an extra $50 bones and get a DVD/cd-rw..

EDIT - just noticed the manual shown in the picture DOES say /DVD/...
You might want to email the seller and make sure it is indeed a dvd rom - he doesnt say it anywhere in his auction description.

Wow I never realized SOdimm memory was so expensive, my regular 512 megs pc2700 was like 80. Also check out Newegg for a toshiba 60 gigs, 16 meg cache, 5400 rpm notebook drive, I paid $158 for mine Shipped. Don't forget the GPS receiver, game joystick, extra mouse/pad/whatever, keyboad, usb hub, and notebook HD adapter.
    Mine needs to be updated.

Good input everyone. I will re-check that external dvd rom drive. The seller has a ton of positive feedback so it seems pretty safe but who knows? I do need to add a usb hub though and hd adapter.

Yeah, I forgot about newegg. I wish they sold all the parts, I really like their service and prices.

More input please if anyone can see anything that I am missing!

edit: one more thing, the external dvd/cd from ebay appears to be only cd, haven't contacted the seller yet since I noticed it requires power.

Can anyone suggest a good reliable external dvd/cd rom drive that is powered by the usb? Thanks

Ok, that dvd drive won't work. It's only CD. That seller does have a dvd drive but runs off AC power. I think I will go for this drive instead:

$116.99 USB external DVD/CD ROM, powered by USB port

maybe im a real cheapskate but, i wouldve just bought a 120gb regular hdd than buying a 80 gb laptop drive for the same price. also, i think there is no point in getting that laptop hdd if you were getting that Morex 2699 mini-ITX case.

maybe u meant to get the Casetronic C134 mini-ITX case http://www.logicsupply.com/product_i...roducts_id/183 for your laptop hdd.

    just my .02.

I bought that one and it works well. Plus its only $89.99. And LLmask maybe you should do some research into why people pay more for laptop HDs.
    Mine needs to be updated.
