Interfacing your carputer + wiring to start on ignition

Okay first off I need someone to point me to somewhere that has a tutorial for taking out the tapedeck/radio and directly wiring the car to a carputer. Will this be too difficult for me? Also, how would you interface if you wanted to keep your cd player in the car? I heard there was a device to hook up to your computer and you change your radio station in your car to listen to the carputer.

my other problem is that I want to wire my carputer to the ignition switch so that when I turn on my car it turns on the carputer. but I dont want to boot up every time I turn off my car, what is the best way to do this?

Hmmm so where do we start. If you are serious about this you first need to get all your ducks in a row sorta' speak.
Then try some

searches and see what you find. Then look at what other ppl did in the finished projects section of this forum. You should now be at a point where you have a pretty good idea about what you need to do ... If you dont its time to reevaluate if you really want and are able to complete your project.
If you decide to go ahead use the

feature to get answers to particular problems then go do ... Post some pics
