Exclamation Ok this is what I'm gonna do

OK so this is what I've decided on. First off I have a Explorer Sport Trac. I'm gonna put in a 7" lilliput touchscreen. I want to connect a computer to this to play music. How can I connect the computer to my stock speakers? (No amp) Then I want to connect my XM Commander radio to this also. The thing about this is it runs off of FM, so how do I get FM through the computer? I also want to connect my gamecube to this, is there a way to do this so I don't have to switch cables all the time, maybe just click a button and it switches over. Also I'm wondering what if I could connect a GPS to all this (not a seperate unit or anything something integrated). I'm wondering what type of software is good for the music playing, GPS, and anything else I would need, including cables and what not. Any help at all is appreciated, Thanks a lot.

Cool Tip from a ****Buy Certified INstaller on Audio

OK what you do. Get your comp set up and running. Then your Comander. They comander uses an FM Modulator. Find out what station you use to play the Sat through. Goto Best Buy and get one of the Mobile Product Spec. guys to order you an anther FM modulator( one with rca inputs) conect to the PC with a headphone-rca cable. you can daisy chain them together on the same antena plug. set the new fm mod to a differant station, set both on your pre sets. You can not have both FM MODS on at the same time so cut off the XM or the PC FM MOD first and visa virsa. Also since you have XM they have a PC conector trough the USB i think. NOt sure b/c i have Sirius so i only know about the XM stuff we carry. But then you could hook xm up to the PC and only cut off the FM MOD when you want to listen to FM radio, why you would want to do that (FM RADIO) i dont know....

EVERYONE NEEDS SAT RADIO IN THEIR CAR. I LOVE MY SIRIUS same as XM but with NFL, NHL, NBA any game anytime for no xtra charge, NO BLACK OUTS EITHER!!!!

Don't know much about the sat radio side of the house, but I do know that a FM unit can be purchased for the computer, USB connection type, and that the same thing can be purchased for the sat radio services. This would allow everything to go through your computer and would also allow for more flexability later on.

The lilliput screen, I am assuming that you already have an idea how to mount it, can control the computer system through the vga and usb connections. If you need ideas on how to mount the screen then go to the fabrications or display forums.

The software is pritty much already available to handle most of what you want it to handle. Drop in to the software forum and there is a number of different types of software to handle a carputer system.

Drop a recommendation into the software guys for the additional tasks you need the system to do and they would more then likely be able to accomidate your needs. The get the benefit as well as you...

Cables and the like are not my area, but hardware is best kept together. If you want to have a computer system in the vehicle, then go with a complete system, don't sell yourself short and have to turn this on, this off, flip this switch, turn this knob, and so on. This is why we have made software to control hardware...

Hope it helped a little bit...

thanks both of you, mjackson what do you mean by "If you want to have a computer system in the vehicle, then go with a complete system, don't sell yourself short and have to turn this on, this off, flip this switch, turn this knob, and so on. This is why we have made software to control hardware..." Is their a certain type I should look at, or what would make it so that i would have to turn something on something off and what not. Thanks

I'm pretty sure you'll have to purchase an amp
