    Hi

I hope your screen is a touchscreen, most carputer apps have a easy to use volume control on the screen, thats the 1 way, the other is by using a griffin powermate and the other is a physical connection on the signal lines going to the amp (using a potentionmeter)

    here you go

    http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powermate/

use google to find the best deals, I bought direct and was charged 40 USD for shipping.........the product was only 39USD so shop around and i am sure you will find cheaper overall prices I didnt and paid the price, also searc hthis forum there are a lot of guys that have a problem with the software drivers for the griffin, but then again a lot of them dont have problems

If you don't have an amp, and you remove the HU, what will power the speakers?

You'll definitely want to get ya a 4-ch amp to drive your speakers. You've got that Expedition so you've got plenty of room to work with. I'm guessing that you've got more than just four speakers up in there. Appropriate amps will be needed to drive all your speakers plus your subs (if any). Yesterday I just received my Pioneer 4-ch amp to drive my speakers and a Pioneer 2-ch to drive my Pioneer 12" Shallow subs. Let the noise begin!
