bump for help.
I've pretty much decided to go with the Lilliput in-dash 7" touch-screen monitor. However, there are two issues I need help with.
1.) I need a small computer that can fit under my passenger seat. However, I've read that the Lilliput requires a certain native resolution not supported by the Epia boards. However, the Epia boards have so many advantages (power, size, heat) that it's hard to go with another alternative (like a Shuttle). Is there a workaround for the resolution problem? I'd hate to spend all this money and be forced to stare at a screen with a weird aspect ratio all day.
2.) How usable is the touch-screen? I've seen screenshots and it seems as if the desktop is a bit small. For instance, if I wanted to close a window, would the touch screen be accurate enough to close the window and not minimize it or maximize it (the buttons are close to one another). I want to use the carputer for DVD, mp3, and GPS. Power DVD has a good size interface, so I'm not concerned about the touch screen on that. However, other applications may need to be more discriminating (like the min/max/close situation).

800*600 on the epia looks fine. The touchscreen glares a lot during they day, but it's pretty acurate.
My Carputer! (More Car Pics at the end)
2 Kicker Comp 10"
Epia M-9000, 256 MB DDR, 120 Gig HD
Lilliput 7" VGA Touchscreen
Check it out?!
1) I'm using the lilliput with an Epia and don't see any problem.
2) Works great with 800x600. Anything higher and it's hard to use.
So if I run 800x600, I wont' get any distortion, like if I run a DVD? The aspect ratio will be okay?Originally Posted by srcstc
