I'm no web programmer, sorry so I created this. It looks factory, from a Germany Company called ARAT. It is also TUV certified. That means the mount is approved for use in vehicles on the Autobahn.
    Hope this helps.
I'll take TUV certification any day of the week - it is much better than anything we can get in the states......

I am impressed with how nice it does look. I had thought any bracket in that center console would not look very neat at all....

Did your monitor seem to interfere with the air flow coming out of the big vent at the top of the console - for heat and air conditioning, etc?

There is no doubt. It is worth it.

not a flush installation, but it works for me, maybe I will mount it later on right onto the vents above the headunit.

the computer is in the trunk.

Thanks for the pics - looks decent.

Only I have realised I'm not ready to start my car project as I have no wife to make me anything to eat after all the hard work

Hey!! That's really clever. How did that grill come off?
I poked around but got scared that I might break something.

that grill is probably $10-$15, and is very easily replaced.

After you take out the headunit, there are two screws at the front edge inside the headunit bay underneath the grill at two sides. if you look up towards the grill from the headunit bay, you will see them. unscrew them, and then pop it out from the back.

Thanks for the tip. I like the way you can de-install it and still have a factory look. I really like the first install, where you had it at the angle lower and towards the driver. Did you decide against it because of the position you have to move your head? I think up by the windshield is the best, here when I drive at 100MPH+ I don't want to have my face looking too far away from the road.

you're welcome, I hope it helps. I first had it in the sunglass holder + OBC area, and it was too low, uncomfortable to look at. Then I had it on the goose neck, it had a much better view angle, but was still low, and dangerous while driving. Now I have it as in post #22, right in front of the vents. There's a little problem, it gets washed out on a sunny day but I have plans for that as well. Nevertheless I like this one best. I don't need to shift focus completely off the road.

hey it must be fun to speed w/out 'speeding ticket' worries That's one very good reason to take euro delivery of a new bimmer.

I used to live in the Bay Area, and everytime I go back when I drive across the Bay Bridge, I just notice how bad the traffic gets every year. In Germany, there are also JAMs to end all Jams.. in Summer some are 36KM long.. There are areas that you can just wind your Bimmer as fast as it will go, (towards Berlin) but there are also many areas that have a lot of road construction 180KPH cruising then down to 80KPH.. Yeah over here the driving style is totally different and you really have to use your car to the limit. When you get to Germany, rent a Bimmer and have a go at the Autobahn. Drive thru the Black Forest, through Austria and over the high passes in Switzerland. It really is an experience. recommended in a German car (for the feeling of course.)

Does that block the view of the passenger side mirror at all?

Not at all. It is really ergonomically situated. Think of it in place of a Taxi meter...

I've just installed a lilliput into my centre console. Had to move the Climate control down to where the sunglass slot was, and relocate head unit to glove.
