    OPUS 150W
    VIA EPIA M100000
    USB 4 port
    Creative Labs Audigy2 Plat PRO
    ATI Radeon 9800 256mb
    Maxtor 300GB 7200rpm
Slot load DVD-RW (whatever's decently priced)
    Lilliput 7" touchscreen
    Stock HU for AM/FM

I dont see why the hard drive would give you problems. I've beeen running a 45 gb 7200 rpm harddrive for over a year without a problem.

You think because of the speed or the capacity? I believe it will run a little slower due to its massive size but I think the processor and ram should all keep up.

I don't know that much about hard drives, but I would have figured with such a large hard drive, all the data being so damn packed together, bad writes may be more common in a harsh environment (like a car).

    That's just a guess though.

What is the Car alarm (Clifford 3.5) going to hooked to? Are you intergrating it into your setup?

Just curious as I have the 3.5 also..

Epia M10000 doesn't have a AGP port, so can't put a Radeon 9800 Pro in there.

Either get yourself a faster motherboard/processor combo, and keep the 9800 Pro (which is way overpowered for any CarPC IMO), or get yourself a Xenarc display (which will give you more satisfaction than a rediculously fast graphics card)

that clifford matrix, just like my clifford arrow, has G4 so you can tie the alarm into a serial port. i plan to do that with my alarm and carpc as well.
